Android Keyboard Setup
Short answer
To use use.fo on Android: install from Google Play, go to Settings → General Management → Language & Input → On-screen Keyboard → Manage keyboards → enable use.fo. Grant microphone permission. Sign in and choose Subscription or BYOK Mobile.

Steps
- Install from Google Play
Search for "use.fo" on Google Play, or use the link at use.fo/download. Install and open the app.
- Sign in
Open use.fo and sign in. Your Subscription or BYOK Mobile license will activate automatically.
- Enable use.fo as a keyboard
Go to your Android Settings (steps may vary by manufacturer): Samsung: Settings → General Management → Language & Input → On-screen Keyboard → Manage keyboards Pixel/Stock Android: Settings → System → Language & input → On-screen keyboard → Manage keyboards Toggle use.fo on. Tap OK on the accessibility warning.
- Set use.fo as default (optional)
To make use.fo your primary keyboard: in Language & Input settings, tap Default keyboard and select use.fo. You can always switch keyboards using the keyboard switcher icon in the text bar.
- Grant microphone permission
When you first use voice input, Android will ask for microphone permission. Tap Allow. You can also grant this in Settings → Apps → use.fo → Permissions → Microphone.
- Choose your plan
Open the use.fo app and go to Settings. Select Subscription, BYOK Mobile (requires your API key), or free tier.
- Start dictating
In any app, switch to use.fo keyboard. Tap the microphone. Speak naturally. Select a Rewrite Mode and use.fo inserts the rewritten text.
Before you start
Requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later. use.fo needs microphone permission and must be enabled as an input method in your Android settings.
Troubleshooting
Problem: use.fo is not appearing as a keyboard option
Solution: Confirm use.fo is enabled in Language & Input → Manage keyboards. Different Android manufacturers have different paths — check your device's Settings search for "keyboard" or "input method".
Problem: Microphone button does not work
Solution: Check Settings → Apps → use.fo → Permissions → Microphone: Allowed. Also confirm the keyboard has microphone access in your device's keyboard settings.
Problem: Cannot purchase BYOK Mobile
Solution: BYOK Mobile is an in-app purchase via Google Play. Open use.fo → Settings → BYOK → Buy BYOK Mobile. The purchase is tied to your Google account and works across Android devices under the same account.
